Danielle is a postdoctoral fellow at Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute in Washington, DC. Danielle studies 1.) epididymal function and sperm maturation processes using the domestic cat as a model for wild and endangered felids and 2.) Cell drying methods for the long-term storage of somatic cells at ambient temperatures as a more sustainable alternative to traditional cryopreservation. She hopes that findings from her research can benefit endangered species conservation efforts.
