My name is Rajan Iyyappan, Ph.D., and I work as a Research Associate at the University of Florida, focusing on post-transcriptional and translational regulation in mammalian oocytes and early embryos. With 13 years of research experience, I specialize in embryo manipulation, CRISPR/Cas-based genome and RNA editing, RNA biology, and m6A RNA modifications. I have authored 21 peer-reviewed publications and developed innovative techniques such as low-input polysome profiling and Puro-PLA for detecting active translation. My research centers on maternal mRNA dynamics and translation control in bovine and mouse embryos to advance understanding of early development and improve reproductive outcomes.
