Oliver Wieben, Ph.D., is Professor with tenure in the Depts. of Medical Physics, Radiology, and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He trained in Germany at the Universities of Hanover, Karlsruhe (TH), and Freiburg as well as the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is interested in the development of cardio, cerebrovascular, and placenta imaging methods for non-invasive magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and their application to ultimately improve clinically relevant diagnosis. His research focuses on methodology improvements for MRI data acquisition, image reconstruction, and post-processing to facilitate comprehensive, non-invasive hemodynamic assessment of the vascular system with applications in improved understanding of disease processes, diagnosis, and therapy monitoring.
