A/Professor Lisandra L. Martin is a biophysical chemist whose research focuses on the structure, function, and membrane interactions of steroidogenic cytochrome P450 enzymes and antimicrobial peptides. Her work integrates techniques such as fluorescence spectroscopy, single-molecule imaging, and membrane mimetics to explore protein dynamics in biologically relevant environments. At Monash University, she has made significant contributions to understanding the functional regulation of CYP17 and CYP19, and the self-assembly of amyloidogenic antimicrobial peptides like uperins. A/Professor Martin’s interdisciplinary approach advances both fundamental biochemistry and translational applications in reproductive biology, endocrinology, and infectious disease.
