David Handelsman AO MBBS PhD FRACP FAHMS is Professor of Reproductive Endocrinology and Andrology, University of Sydney (1996- ), inaugural and now Emeritus Director, ANZAC Research Institute and founder of Australia’s only hospital Andrology Departmentl. His discovery, clinical and public health research focuses on androgen physiology, pharmacology and toxicology producing 780 peer-reviewed papers (>46,000 citations, h index 117) making him among the most cited authors on androgens or testosterone. His clinical and research activities are in anti-doping science and gender eligibility for elite sports, androgen misuse and abuse and operating for >15 years Australia’s only research-oriented steroid mass spectrometry laboratory.
