Dr. Speckhart earned a B.S. degree in 2017 from Kansas State University in Animal Science/Biotechnology. She then pursued graduate studies at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (M.S. degree, 2019), and at Virginia Tech, where she earned a Ph.D. degree (2023) in reproductive biology and was a receipient of a predoctoral fellowship (USDA-NIFA). Dr. Speckhart is currently gaining postdoctoral training in Dr. Michael Soares’ Laboratory at the University of Kansas Medical Center. During Dr. Speckhart's time there, she has earned four grants including: K-INBRE, Lalor Postdoctoral Fellowship, NIH LRP grant, and NIH NRSA F32 Postdoctoral Fellowship, and received two poster awards.
