Shelley Sandmaier received her B.S., B.A., and M.S. degrees from North Carolina State University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Maryland - College Park. She was a post-doctoral associate at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, working in reproduction on a variety of species including Philippine crocodiles, tigers, snow leopards, and black-footed cats, among others. Her work at San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is focused on assisted reproductive techniques in rhinos, tigers, and other non-domestic cats of conservation concern.
