I completed my undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Pharmacy from North South University in Bangladesh in 2018 and received the cum laude award. I gained interest on cell biology and the mechanism of action of drugs which inspired me to pursue master’s degree. After the completion of my B.Sc. studies, I got an opportunity to pursue master’s in science in Pharmacology at King’s College London, in the United Kingdom. I completed my master’s degree with merit in 2019. During my master’s thesis I got the opportunity to investigate the function of an ion channel in mouse colon tissue. With my escalated interest in ion channels and pharmacology and experience in electrophysiology I decided to continue my work in the field of research. I received an offer to join the Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) as a Research Associate. With my credentials and work experience I took the next step in my academic journey to explore ion channel functioning in cells and got admitted to a Ph.D. program. Currently, I am pursuing Ph.D. in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at KUMC.
