Dr Priscilla Day-Walsh is a Next Generation Fellow at the Loke Centre for Trophoblast Research working in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and a Bye-Fellow at Homerton College, University of Cambridge. She earned her PhD at the University of Southampton and is a Visiting Scientist at the Quadram Institute Bioscience, Norwich, UK, where she co-founded key academic initiatives. Dr Day-Walsh’s research aims to provide a mechanistic understanding of how the maternal gut microbial-derived components affect maternal-placental-fetal physiology and the impact this has on pregnancy outcomes. These microbe-derived components are promising clinical targets for predicting, screening, and treating pregnancy complications.
