Dr Lauren Alesi is a Research Fellow at the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute (Monash University) in Australia. She completed her PhD studies in Prof Karla Hutt's Women's Health and Ovarian Biology Laboratory in 2024, where her research focused on understanding the off-target effects of new and existing cancer therapies on ovarian function. Despite being $700K in research support, enabling her to remain under the mentorship of Prof Hutt for her postdoctoral studies. In early 2025, Lauren received a prestigious Cancer Council Victoria Postdoctoral Fellowship, enabling her to expand her research focus to identify novel fertility preservation targets to prevent cancer treatment-induced ovarian toxicity.
