Erick Silva earned his Ph.D. at Sao Paulo Federal University (Brazil; 2009) and completed postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA; 2012). He then returned to Brazil as a “CNPq Science without Borders” Young Investigator at the Sao Paulo Federal University. In 2014, Dr. Silva joined the Department of Biophysics and Pharmacology faculty, Institute of Biosciences of Botucatu, São Paulo State University (Brazil), as a faculty member. Dr. Silva’s research focuses on (i) protein-protein interactions in spermatozoa as pharmacological targets for male contraception and (ii) mechanisms underlying the inflammatory responses in the epididymis.
