Skylar Bird is pursuing a Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Physiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Bird graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 2021 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology. Her studies focus on deciphering the details of abnormal estrogen signaling related to uterine fibroid pathogenesis. Despite recent advances, the extent of estrogen receptor regulation remains unclear and undefined. She aims to use this research to provide a greater understanding of the role of epigenetic regulation of estrogen receptor in the uterus. This knowledge will allow for more personalized and effective treatment options.
