I am a researcher at UCSF working under the guidance of Dr. Maltepe and collaborating with the Rinaudo laboratory. My research focuses on understanding the effects of in vitro fertilization on placental development. I specialize in single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) and Iso-Seq data analysis to investigate gene expression changes in trophoblast cell types. My recent work highlights significant transcriptional alterations in IVF-conceived placentas, particularly in parietal trophoblast giant cells (P-TGCs) and HIF-1 target genes. In addition to transcriptomic studies, I am also interested in understanding the metabolic differences between IVF- and naturally conceived placentas through the application of Raman spectroscopy.
