Yuqing Yang

Smithsonian's National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute , Thailand

I am a veterinarian specializing in elephant reproduction, having worked with both males and females during my MSc (2019 to 2021) and PhD (2022 to 2025) studies at the Thailand Elephant Conservation Center. In addition to elephants, I have conducted semen collection, evaluation, and cryopreservation in various domestic animals and clouded leopards. I have also participated in several ART workshops, including specialized training events in elephant AI. Since 2022 I am honored to collaborate with the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute under the supervision of Dr. Pierre Comizzoli, working on research related to the elephant reproductive microbiome.
