Graduate student
Penn State-Dept of Animal Science
Chandlar Kern earned her Ph.D. in Animal Science from The Pennsylvania State University under the mentorship of Dr. Wansheng Liu. Her research focused on the Y-linked PRAMEY gene family's role in bovine sperm maturation, fertilization, and early embryonic epigenetic programming. She used molecular biology, IVF, and WGBS to investigate gene regulation and methylation dynamics. A USDA NIFA Predoctoral Fellow, Chandlar has published on PRAME genes in germline development and was actively involved in graduate student leadership through the Society for the Study of Reproduction. Her work advances understanding of male fertility and epigenetic regulation in cattle.
