Georgia Rae Atkins (PhD Candidate, University of Pittsburgh/Magee-Womens Research Institute) is a PhD candidate in the lab of Dr. Kyle Orwig in the Molecular Genetics and Developmental Biology program in the School of Medicine. Her thesis looks at next-generation technologies for male infertility. Much of her research explores using AAVs to treat non-obstructive azoospermia caused by Sertoli cell dysfunction. Georgia wishes to continue in a career as an academic researcher and is passionate about helping solve issues in reproductive medicine that help improve patients’ quality of life.
