During her time at UMKC, she was awarded the Sarah Morrison Research Award for her contributions to medical research. She was also honored with the Kansas City Community Engagement Champion Award, highlighting her dedication to service and outreach in the local community. During her free time, she enjoys reading, writing poetry, and is an avid hiker.
