Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
Rebecca is a postdoctoral researcher and embryologist facilitating the creation of transgenic marmoset embryos. She graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine with a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology and Genetics in 2023 in the lab of Karen Berkowitz, M.D. Her dissertation focused on the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying oocyte development and ovarian aging in mammals. She is also an alumna of Boston University, where she obtained her bachelors degree in Biology with a specialization in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Genetics in 2017. Prior to joining the Segars lab, Rebecca was an IVF specialist with the Johns Hopkins Fertility Center. She hopes her research can aid in furthering knowledge and understanding of female reproductive organs to improve clinical IVF outcomes.
