Rachel comes from Kansas, with a B.S in Animal Science from Kansas State University. Her passion for genetics led her to the Animal Science Department of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she completed her M.S and Ph.D in Animal Breeding and Genetics under Dr. Jessica Petersen. Her research investigated how heat stress alters the bovine transcriptome and methylome. After completing her Ph.D, Rachel joined Dr. Andrea Cupp's reproductive physiology lab to analyze the theca cell transcriptome of cows with high intrafollicular A4. Rachel is currently a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. John Davis's lab at University of Nebraska Medical Center.
