Carmen Williams, MD, PhD is a Senior Investigator in the Reproductive & Developmental Biology Laboratory at the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences. She trained and practiced clinically as an Ob/Gyn and Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility physician scientist at the University of Pennsylvania. She then switched her career path away from the clinic to ask basic science questions about the mechanisms underlying the establishment of pregnancy. Her lab now focuses on how developmental estrogenic chemical exposures impact female reproductive health as well as on calcium signaling during egg activation and how those signals impact offspring health.
