Distinguished Professor Trish Berger’s interest in livestock reproduction began on the family farm in western Kansas. She earned a BA in Biochemistry from the University of Kansas (USA), with a year studying Physiology and Biochemistry of Farm Animals at the University of Reading (UK). She completed her MS and PhD at Purdue University (USA). Research interests at UC Davis Department of Animal Science have been the interacting molecules on the sperm and oocyte including their roles in relative fertility, the role of endogenous estradiol on Sertoli cell proliferation and fertility and the potential to eliminate boar taint in functional boars.
